Your privacy
Last updated: 27 October 2026
Dot Junior is a word puzzle game for children, made by Tom Sanders, an independent developer in the United Kingdom. Contact [support email to confirm] about privacy or anything in this notice.
The short version
- We do not collect, see or store any information about you or your child.
- There are no accounts, no ads, no tracking, no analytics and no third-party tools in the app.
- Progress stays on the device. A grown-up can choose to sync it with iCloud, which Apple runs.
- Purchases are handled by Apple and sit behind a grown-up question.
- There are no links out of the app, no chat and no way to contact other players.
For children
Dot Junior never asks for your name, where you live, how old you are or a photo of you. Your game is saved on your iPad or iPhone, and we cannot see it. Nobody else can talk to you in the game. If you want more levels, ask a grown-up to help.
What we collect
Nothing. Dot Junior has no sign-in and does not ask for names, email addresses, birth dates, location, photos or contacts. The app has no advertising, no advertising identifiers, no analytics, no tracking and no third-party software kits. It does not send your game, your words or any device information to us or to anyone else.
Your progress on this device
To remember where you are, the app saves your progress in its own storage on the device. This includes the levels you have won, failed or skipped, the words you have found or tried in each level, the hints you have used and any answer you are part way through typing. Words are checked inside the app on the device and are never sent to us. Please do not type personal information, such as names or addresses, into answers.
Optional iCloud sync
iCloud sync is off until a grown-up turns it on in the grown-ups area of the app. When it is on, a copy of the same progress is kept in Apple's iCloud storage for the Apple Account signed in on the device, so the game can continue on that account's other iPads and iPhones. Apple runs iCloud and looks after this copy under Apple's own privacy policy. We cannot see or access it. Turning sync off stops the app from updating the iCloud copy.
Purchases
Levels 1 to 20 are free. Pack A, Pack B and All levels are one-off in-app purchases. They are behind a grown-up question, so a child cannot buy them by accident. Apple handles payment and stores payment information. We do not receive card details, names or Apple Account details. The app checks Apple-signed purchase information on the device to unlock and restore packs. Ask to Buy and other purchase controls are set in the device's Apple settings. Refunds are handled by Apple.
No links, chat or sharing
The app has no links to websites, no social media buttons, no chat and no way to talk to or find other players. Nothing you do in the game is shown to anyone else.
Designed for children
Dot Junior is made for children aged 6 to 8 and is listed in the Kids category of the App Store. It is built to follow Apple's rules for kids apps, UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) and the Information Commissioner's Office Children's Code. Privacy settings start at the most private option, there is no profiling or location tracking, and the app does not use design tricks to encourage children to share information or spend money.
If you contact us
If you email us, we use the information you choose to send only to answer your message. Our email provider processes that message to deliver it. We keep it only as long as needed to help and to meet any legal obligations. Please do not include information about your child.
Deleting your information
Deleting the app removes the progress saved on that device. If iCloud sync has been turned on, the iCloud copy is held in your Apple Account and managed by Apple. Turning sync off in the grown-ups area stops it being updated. Apple keeps purchase records under its own policies.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have rights to access, correct and delete personal information. Because we do not hold any information about you or your child, there is usually nothing for us to provide, but you can contact us with any question or concern. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If the app's data practices ever change, we will update this notice and the date above before the change happens. If a future version ever needed information from children, we would ask a parent's permission first where the law requires it.
